Discover the many ways to protect your investment

The terms "vehicle service contract," "warranty," and "protection plan" are sometimes incorrectly used interchangeably in the industry, which can create some confusion around what each one means. Limited warranties and service contracts are different, and it's important to understand the differences when shopping for the right plan.

Limited Warranty

A limited warranty is included in a new vehicle purchase and covers warrantable repairs for a specified time or mileage3. However, if the vehicle is sold, they are fully transferable to subsequent purchasers. Limited warranties cannot be cancelled.

Vehicle Service Contract (Protection Plan)

A vehicle service contract covers failure of specific parts. It can be added at the time of vehicle purchase at an additional cost, or any time up to 8 years or 100,000 miles3. It also may be transferred if the vehicle is sold, or you may cancel it at any time.

Protect Your Investment With Confidence From the People Who Know Your Chevy Best

You put a lot of thought into choosing the right Chevrolet for your life. Now, protect that investment with the comprehensive suite of Chevrolet Protection products available at Bergey's Chevrolet of Plymouth Meeting. Every Chevrolet Protection product is endorsed by Chevrolet and backed by General Motors, which means your coverage comes from the people who engineered and built your vehicle. Whether you are driving a brand-new Chevrolet, a certified pre-owned model, or a leased vehicle, there is a protection plan tailored to your needs that can help shield you from unexpected costs and keep your ownership experience as enjoyable as the day you drove off the lot.

Chevrolet Protection Plan Vehicle Service Contracts

A Chevrolet Protection Plan vehicle service contract provides additional coverage on top of your manufacturer's limited warranty, helping protect you from potentially costly repairs as your vehicle ages. Unlike the factory warranty that is included with your new vehicle purchase, a vehicle service contract can be added at the time of purchase or at any point up to eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Chevrolet offers three tiers of coverage to fit your driving habits, budget, and how long you plan to keep your vehicle. The Platinum plan provides the most comprehensive protection, covering up to 1,500 parts and components across virtually every major system. The Silver plan covers specific parts across most major systems and offers a strong balance of protection and value. The Powertrain plan focuses on the essential systems that keep your vehicle moving, including engine and transmission components. All three tiers offer customizable terms and deductible options so you can build a plan that fits your situation. Covered repairs are performed using GM Genuine Parts by Chevrolet Certified Service technicians, giving you the quality and expertise your vehicle deserves.

GAP Coverage

If your Chevrolet is ever declared a total loss due to an accident or covered event, there can be a significant gap between what your insurance company pays and what you still owe on your finance agreement. Chevrolet GAP Coverage provides added financial protection by waiving some or all of that difference, including your insurance deductible. This coverage can be especially valuable in the early years of ownership when depreciation can outpace your loan balance. Chevrolet also offers an enhanced GAP option that includes a credit toward the purchase of a replacement vehicle at your original selling dealer, giving you additional support as you get back on the road. GAP Coverage is available at the time of vehicle purchase and can be transferred if you sell your vehicle before the coverage period ends.

Pre-Paid Maintenance

Routine maintenance is one of the most important things you can do to keep your Chevrolet performing at its best, and Chevrolet Pre-Paid Maintenance makes it easier to stay on schedule. By prepaying for your maintenance plan, you lock in today's prices for tomorrow's services and avoid the uncertainty of rising service costs over time. The standard Pre-Paid Maintenance plan covers engine oil and oil filter replacement, tire rotation, and a Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection at each visit. The Pre-Paid Maintenance Plus plan adds coverage for cabin air filters, engine air filters, brake fluid, windshield wiper blades, and more. Both plans are available on new, pre-owned, and leased vehicles and are serviced by Chevrolet Certified Service technicians using GM Genuine Parts and ACDelco components at any participating General Motors dealer nationwide.

EV Protection and EV Pre-Paid Maintenance

If you drive a Chevrolet electric vehicle such as the Equinox EV or Silverado EV, dedicated protection products are available specifically for your EV ownership experience. The Chevrolet EV Protection Plan provides additional coverage above and beyond the manufacturer's limited warranty, addressing the unique components and systems found in electric vehicles. The EV Pre-Paid Maintenance plan covers the specific service needs of electric vehicles, including tire rotation, Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection, and inspections of regenerative brakes, battery coolant, and the charging socket and port. While your Chevrolet EV may not require traditional oil changes, it still benefits from regular maintenance to ensure every system is performing as designed. These EV-specific plans give you the confidence to enjoy your electric driving experience knowing your vehicle is backed by the people who built it.

Tire and Wheel Protection

Pennsylvania roads can be hard on tires and wheels, and a single pothole or piece of road debris can lead to an expensive repair or replacement. Chevrolet Tire and Wheel Protection provides coverage for the repair or replacement of tires that are structurally damaged by a covered road hazard, with no deductible and no mileage limitations. The standard plan offers terms up to seven years when purchased at the time of your vehicle purchase. An enhanced version adds coverage for cosmetic wheel damage, helping keep your vehicle looking its best. A standalone Tire Protection plan is also available when you purchase new covered tires and provides coverage for up to three years. All Tire and Wheel Protection plans include towing assistance for covered events, giving you added peace of mind whenever you are on the road.

Multi-Coverage Protection

For owners who want a broader layer of protection that goes beyond mechanical and maintenance coverage, Chevrolet Multi-Coverage Protection bundles several valuable products into one convenient package. This suite of optional protection products is designed to preserve your vehicle's appearance and performance while minimizing out-of-pocket costs for common issues. Coverage can include tire and wheel protection for road hazard damage, paintless dent repair for door dings and minor dents, windshield repair for chips and cracks caused by road debris, and key replacement coverage for lost, damaged, or locked-in keys. Multi-Coverage Protection lets you address the kinds of everyday incidents that can be frustrating and costly without the hassle of shopping for individual coverage products.

Additional Protection Products

Chevrolet Protection also includes several additional products to round out your coverage. The XS Wear plan offers valuable replacement coverage for vehicle components that commonly wear out over time, helping you avoid unexpected replacement costs as your vehicle ages. Lease Protection helps make turning in your Chevrolet at the end of your lease simple by providing added coverage for common wear and tear charges that might otherwise result in end-of-lease fees. The Advanced Protection plan combines multiple coverage areas into a single, streamlined package. Each of these products is endorsed by Chevrolet and backed by General Motors, and can be tailored to your specific ownership situation. Ask our finance team about combining products for a comprehensive protection package that covers your vehicle from every angle.

Transferability and Flexibility

One of the most valuable features of Chevrolet Protection products is the flexibility they provide throughout your ownership experience. Most Chevrolet Protection products, including the Protection Plan, Pre-Paid Maintenance, and Tire and Wheel Protection, can be transferred to a new private party owner if you sell your vehicle before the coverage expires. This transferability can increase your vehicle's resale value by giving the next owner the confidence of knowing the vehicle is still protected. If your plans change and you no longer need coverage, most products can be canceled with a pro rata refund available after the initial 30-day period. During the first 30 days, coverage is fully refundable if no claims have been filed.
